bSens Cloud

The cloud

In development

In development: designed to keep each result in a history over time.

  • Intended use: not defined yet. bSens Cloud is in development.

bSens platform

We build every layer, from biomarker to app.

A measurement passes through five layers, from the biomarker to the reader's software. The sixth, bSens Cloud, is in development. When all of them are ours, we know where every number on the screen comes from.

  1. Biomarker: What the drop reveals. For bSens.INR, clotting time.

  2. Reagent: The chemistry on the strip that reacts with the sample.

  3. Electrode: The sensor printed on the strip that turns the reaction into a signal.

  4. Device: The bSens One reader, which takes the strip and runs the measurement.

  5. Firmware: The reader's software, which reads the signal and calculates INR.

  6. Cloud: bSens Cloud, in development, designed to keep each result in a history over time.

The system

One reader, one strip, one cloud.

The three parts are designed to work as a single system.

Scientific context

What the studies say.

Data from scientific papers and books. They describe the condition, the field and the technology, not bSens products.

  • 3.7%

In a study of 60 outpatient clinics at two US academic medical centers, from 2015 to 2017, 3.7% of point-of-care glucose results typed by hand into the electronic health record by clinic staff differed from the value sent through the device interface. That was 260 of 6,930 pairs; in 37 of them (0.5% of all pairs), the difference was over 20%. 1

  • The World Health Organization defines mobile health as medical and public health practice supported by mobile devices. Pairing diagnostic tests with these devices gave rise to connected diagnostics. 2

  • Results from the same person vary from one measurement to the next, through biology and through the method. Laboratory medicine uses the reference change value (RCV) to judge whether a difference between serial results is significant. 3

  • The quality of warfarin control is commonly measured as time in the therapeutic range (TTR). With the Rosendaal method, from 1993, this time is calculated from serial INR results, assuming a linear change between two consecutive measurements. 4,5

Frequently asked questions

Is the data stored?
bSens Cloud, in development, is designed to keep each result in a history.
Do I need internet?
The reader is designed to measure without internet and to sync with bSens Cloud, which is in development, when there is a network.
Is it a final diagnosis?
No. bSens.INR measures and shows the INR value. Interpretation and the clinical decision belong to the healthcare professional.
